Okay. I loved this book. It’s clearly a character focused book and a story about healing. But there were a few things that bother me (2 exactly)
1. Didn’t Bianca choose reincarnation? So why is she in Elysium here?
2. And it was the biggest flaw of the book: THE HAZEL ERASURE. Nico talks a lot about Percy, Annabeth, Jason, sometimes Leo, but he mentions HIS SISTER like 2/3 times in the whole book. And he says that no one took care of him like will since his mom and Bianca died? What about Hazel (even Jason and Reyna). HAZEL WAS THE ONE THAT STOOD UP FOR HIM ON THE BOAT IN MOA
3. Okay a little third point, didn’t he considered Camp Jupiter as a home at some point?

BUT. It’s still a great book. 
1. I loved seeing Nico choosing to move on and deal with his trauma. I loved how he choose. I loved his relationship with Will and the cute names they used. 
2. It made me cry and tear up so bonus point 
3. This book is everything à Nico di Angelo fan, a queer person, a queer kid needs 
4. I loved that Nico got in touch with Piper at the end, I really want them to start a good friendship 
5. Another thing I love, is the message that darkness, sadness and other things like that are not necessarily bad. Will learned that during the story. There is no light without darkness. And he needed it because of his préjugés. And this is a strong message for anyone struggling with them
6. I love how it talks about trauma and overcoming them by letting them go and accepting them as they are. 
7. THEY DID IT. They address how wrong Cupid’s scene and the outing was

This book healed something in me. It is also a testimony to why Authors should bring in Co-authors more often. Rick is aware of his young and old audiences and the balance of topics in this book show it. Nico's PTSD and Wills guilt is not shied away from. Mark was such a wonderful co-author. Conversations on queerness and gender felt natural. Will and Nico were clearly written with a queer person. I wish more time had been spent in Tartarus but it didn't take anything away in the long run.

GAHHHH SO WHOLESOME T-T
Solangelo making you feel like you're third-wheeling them for 466 pages? Sign me up, please.

The lovey-dovey stuff apart, I love how much this book focuses on both Nico and Will (they're teenagers, mind you) struggling to find who they are while dealing with their trauma. Sure, I love their cute romantic moments, which is ABUNDANT, but I also love the fact that their relationship is not perfect - yes Nico doesn't open up and Will is a little close-minded, yes they get annoyed with each other, yes they fight, yes they talk and make up - and that's what makes it so beautiful. And I love how this book portrays the monsters in a different light.

So did the writing and the general plot deserve five stars? Maybe not, but what can I say, I'm biased towards Nico and he more than deserves it. He finally healed, got some long-awaited closure with his family, has an amazing boyfriend,

and he's also a role-model to other campers??? and he gives advice to others suffering from trauma??? and he quite literally lives with his demons now???

TL;DR this is the cutest book I've ever read. It's quite cheesy, sure, but to quote Nico: 

'Lay it on me, Will. I'm your grilled cheese'
He stepped over a thorny rock, then squinted at Nico. 'I think your metaphor needs work', he said.
