This book was brilliant! This is my first book by this author and OMG it was a great introduction. The world building in this book along with the magical system was great. As always there were plot twist and turns that left me with a lot of questions.

The characters were so great I loved Liz and how strong and passionate she was. I loved Thorne automatically and loved their whole relationship, I cannot wait for more to be explore and revealed between them. There were a few spicy scenes but honestly I felt sorry for Liz she seems very lonely and isolated I liked that Thorne could give her something she never had before. Also I loved the nickname!

I loved the war and politic aspect on the book and enjoyed the concept of Liz work and how she was kept in away - I loved the bond between her and her best friend it was lovely to see such support and dedication.

Ok I liked this but the advertisement on how spicy this was I feel like it was misleading. It was pretty spicy but not

Really enjoyed it. Pacing was good but it ended right when all the action was starting. Not too wordy like other JLA books can be. I feel like it's going to be a series where the 1st book really sets everything up and the 2nd book is where the plot really picks up.

Not like. Mind blowing. But I ATE it up. Perfect for an acotar hangover. Chef’s Kiss. Very spicy and after acosf, it was just what I wanted!

Mini spoiler?: there’s a cliffhanger but it wasn’t the worst. I was still able to move on with my day after finishing the book

What a weird paced book. It also didn’t seem to be sure whether it wanted to be fantasy, romance or romantasy lol. Pick one or do them all justice.
I was very underwhelmed by this read - bored out of my mind actually.
And I cringed at a lot of dialogues. I even suffered from second hand embarrassment a few times.
I skimmed starting at 50% because it was either that or DNF.

I’m sorry I’m such a hate reader lately. This slump is just the worst I’ve ever had

I haven’t been enjoying my reads for about a month now. So I hope this breaks my curse

Am I a full time college student? Yes.
Do I have way too much of my plate at the moment? Also yes.
Did I finish this book in 2 days…? ABSOLUTELY
I love anything and everything JLA, so it’s not surprising that this book was a 5⭐️
I did not come to this book with any set expectations, but the plot, the characters, it was EVERYTHING and it truly was such a good read:)

VERY spicy, interesting world building, similar vibes to Blood and Ash, but different world building that is a bit more unique. Lol to the Deminyens that feed off of pleasure, what a way to design spice into your fantasy world.
