Aleks is divorced, and has only ever been with his high school sweetheart. He thinks he wants to have lots of hookups, but realizes that’s not him with some experimenting.

Gabe is a firefighter called to Aleks’ house after a bunch of the players drink too much and set a small fire unwisely. He likes Aleks, but wants a life, not a casual thing. Still, they manage to agree to have some fun to help Aleks be with someone with no pressure.

Things become deeper for both of them, so much so that Aleks reconsiders what he wants and Gabe is ready to be a boyfriend of someone famous.

Not a bad book, but some of the antics are a bit too ridiculous, and the “friend” characters a bit too gritty.

An OK read.

Aleksander Emerson is going through a bit of a mid-life crisis. With his marriage to his high school sweet-heart ending in a messy divorce and his newly discovered bisexuality, he was struggling to say the least. When a situation regarding a queer relationship isn't handled well by his NHL team, San Jose, he decides to move to Seattle where he is the new guy in town all over again.

The story begins with Queer Collective (basically a group of all the queer hockey players in the NHL) shenanegans, where one drunken night almost ends in Aleks getting his new house's lawn scorched. The neighbors call the fire department where, Gabe and his buddy Sanden are the first responders.

Once Aleks comes awakes hungover in the morning, he realizes the mortification of the events the night before and goes to the fire house to offer Sanden and Gabe free season tickets in order to keep what had happened to themselves. Turns out, Gabe CROSBY doesn't even LIKE hockey!

When Gabe finally, begrudgingly, goes to one of Aleks' games and the two find themselves in each other's orbit after Aleks almost psyches himself out, Gabe proposes to teach baby-bi Aleks all there is to know about the other side of the sexuality fence. What could possibly go wrong?

The beginning of this book has possibly the greatest into to ANY romance novel I have read so far!! It had me in stitches and peeling over from laugher the entire time! I don't think I'll ever look at a bikini or flapper dress the same way ever again! Gabe and Aleks are so toothachingly adorable! Gabe's flirtiness and the way that Aleks just blushes like a school-girl every time just had me crooning with delight every time.

Gabe is also from a wayward house called the Bertha House which is from another series of books by Saxon James called the "Accidental Love Series" in which later books both Gabe and Aleks are mentioned!! So it might be helpful to read "The Husband Hoax", the first book in that series which initially introduces Gabe if you want more back story on him.

The audiobook as always is phenomenal! Another brilliant performance by Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma!!

AUDIO REVIEW

I was really excited for this one because we got the crossover between the puckboys and the Betha boys.

Aleks and Gabe were so good together. I loved everything about their relationship from the moment they met right until the end.  They complemented each other very well.
