Guilty Pleasure Book with repetitive nerd humour and lazy writing. The Narrator does a good job though and made this enjoyable enough.

Better than the second book, but still bogged down by its own plot devices and conceit. I have seen video game tropes and shoddy programming used to better effect in other books. The middle section I suspect was used to torment the readers as well as the characters, which makes me wince to write as I could tell that the author had put a lot of research and effort into the details. I'm usually a details guy. Here it slowed the progress of the story and felt like padding to make the book longer.

Ultimately I can recommend the first book in the series, but the rest doesn't hold up for me.

I had little expectations regarding this book, as most of the reviews i've read where positive enough.

But... I was happy that i gave it a chance. This book fits my taste better than the first two books did.

It has much better character development than the first book, the author has leared a lot maintaining the storylines interesting and the overall tone of the book was much funnier than i've expected. There are situations and notes that are just hilarious if...

...and now comes the if...

You will like the book if you're a gamer, played RPGs or MMORPG or are in anyway related to them. And of course if you get the hints to the 80s. So if you've played buggy RPGs like e.g. the Gothic series, i think you should give the book a fair chance. There are so many funny little stories i can relate... I loved it!

I also  loved the character development of Jimmy, and hope to see him again in any of the following books.

For me it turned out to be the best in the series until now. But i'm off... ...to read fight and flight. Let's see what this book holds for me.

Eh... I felt the same about this book as the last. They’re just a little too long, some scenes drag out way beyond my interest level. Because I’ve done all of these books in audio, I sometimes allow myself to just tune out entirely for periods of time. BUT! Then all of a sudden a really original and hilariously funny scene or line will pop up. And I love that.

Will I do book 4? Hmm... maybe... but not any time soon.

The audio book reader is excellent. Perfect for the series.
