Another amazing read by Lindsey Kelk! I loved this book - we get to meet new characters and learn more about Alex's past.. we also see less of Jenny (bugger) but I love following Angela along on her Parisian adventure!

Surprisingly, I thought this was actually pretty good. I barely ever find chick-lit very involving but I actually really enjoyed this one. I've learned it's part of a series and this is the third one. However, you don't really need to read the previous two to follow the story.
It's about Angela Clark, a girl from London who lives in New York as a blogger/writer. Her boyfriend Alex invites her to go to Paris with him, as he is going to play in a music festival with his band. The rest of the story is everything possible going wrong.
I enjoyed this book because I loved the sense of humour. I'm not saying it's hilarious or so funny that you'll be laughing out loud but it was funnier than most books I've read. It reminded me of Sophie Kinsella's writing style, except Angela Clark was very relatable and realistic.
I liked the worse-case-scenerio-type plot, where everything was going wrong. I don't know why. Maybe it was just more fun to read about a shitty trip to Paris than a perfect one. I could relate to it because my trip to Paris last year was not what I expected.
I am now curious to read other books in the series which surprised me because when I started the book, I realized it was book 3 of a series and I thought, "I don't think I'd want to read three books about the same character". And then when I got a hundred pages in, I understood why people wouldn't mind reading about the same character. Angela Clark is just a funny but interesting girl.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes chick lit, especially if you like Sophie Kinsella or Bridget Jones Diary.

passable chick lit. Set in paris which normally gives most books an extra point, but I was so busy having Angela (the lead character) annoy the crap out of me that it didn't pick up the bonus as a result. An OK, easy, quick, brain-free read for the $5 I paid for it.
I saw this book when I was looking in the library new books section and the cover shouted out to me even though it was an author I had not heard of before. The front cover looks like your typical fun, chick-lit style read.
The problem was it was not until I got home and started to read that I found out that this book was the third in the series after I Heart New York and I heart Hollywood.
I was unsure if to carry on reading as I was worried I wouldn't be able to fall into the story having not read the previous books. The trouble was I didn't have another book so I carried on.
The book is about Angela Clarke who writes her own blog. At the beginning of this book her boyfriend, Alex, suggests a trip to Paris which fits in nicely with a new job opportunity for Angela to write a piece for Belle magazine on Paris and also for Alex to play at a festival.
Trouble starts with the moment Angela gets on the plane and the disasters keep coming. When arriving in Paris Angela finds that her luggage has been blown up so she only has the items which she is standing in. If this was not bad enough when she walks into the cafe to meet Alex she sees a blonde bombshell sitting on his lap! Angela finds herself very isolated and a little home sick in this book when she finds out some truths about Alex's past, and finds herself at a point where her job, relationship, and friendships are all on the line.
What was meant to be a nice romantic break to Paris was actually the break from hell. You find when you are reading this book you keep thinking surely things cannot get any worse for Angela but something else always seems to happen.
As I said I didnt read the previous books but I have to say I still flowed along nicely with the story. There were a few references which kept coming up to do with a past relationship and a previous trip to LA which obviously I could not relate to. I would advise you to read the previous two books first!
I was surprised how much I warmed to Angela as a character as I would have thought with there being three books her personality would have to grow on you but I did not find that this was the case. You generally felt for Angela on many occasions .
There was a surprising twist towards the end of the book which I really did not see coming but had me on the edge of my seat! I do love a book with twists and not being able to predict what is going to happen in the next chapter. I do find many chick-lit books become repetitive but this book was defiantly not following in those footsteps.
I enjoyed this book so much I am now going to try and get the other two books to read. I can only hope that they are as good, if not better than this book.
This book is a light chick- lit read and would be an ideal holiday book. I still think that there could be another book released after this one as things were not tied up at the end of the book her life is still left hanging in the air.

"I Heart Paris" by Lindsey Kelk is the third installment in the "I Heart" series, following the adventures of Angela Clark. This time, Angela accompanies her boyfriend Alex to Paris, where he is set to perform at a music festival. Simultaneously, Angela is tasked with writing a piece for Belle magazine about her Parisian experience. What starts as a romantic getaway quickly unravels into chaos with the reappearance of Alex's French ex-girlfriend and, of course, numerous setbacks in Angela's work and personal life...
Rather than La Vie en Rose, I got La Vie en Rubbish.
The novel maintains the series' signature light-hearted and quick-paced style, filled with so to say humorous and (sometimes overly) dramatic situations. Angela’s character continues to be a mixed bag; while her relatable moments and pop culture references (like those to Gossip Girl ‼) add charm, her tendency to avoid confronting relationship issues are so frustrating (hello miscommunication trope??). Her flaws, including her dependency on alcohol, doesn't do much to making her any more likeable.
In terms of Paris' side characters, I totally looove Virginie. Graham was definitely Angela's rational saviour.
And what I liked most in this book? WE FINALLY GET MORE OF ALEX!! YES

I stood up on wobbly legs and let Alex lead me back to the bed. He took out a button- up shirt and slipped it on me, fastening the front few buttons and then popping out two Advil and placing them in my palm. ‘Let me get you some water,’ he pushed me carefully on to the bed and disappeared back into the bathroom.
Love is in the little things🤌🏼
Furthermore, descriptions of Parisian fashion, food, and iconic locations add a backdrop to the story, making it a delightful read for those who enjoy romantic comedies set in picturesque cities. I'm saying this from a perspective of not having visited Paris, so I wouldn't know whether the descriptions were flat or shallow. I definitely liked the Hollywood description in the previous book.
Those looking for deeper character development or more serious themes will find this book lacking. But you know, it is a good "in between". Fans of Sophie Kinsella will likely appreciate Kelk’s writing style and the series’ overall tone.
