Really enjoyed this audiobook with a combination of the biographical and Lynch himself speaking. What a wild ride David's life was like. A true creative that I don't know if I could ever transcend to. I truly appreciate his work but I don't know if or how I'd get along with him as a person. Fascinating read and gave me such a push to get back in to making things again.

Not super in debth but interesting all the same. Loved listening to david narrate his parts.
I highly recommend the audio book. David tells stories and talks about each preceding chapter by Kristine McKenna. Fantastic. A beautiful experience.

Written for fans who have a good background knowledge of Lynch's movies. Great info about his childhood, and art background making it a wonderful read. Long, but enjoyable.

david lynch really was one of a kind <3 this was genuinely such a delightful read and the audiobook is definitely worth it! it was so interesting to hear kristine mckenna’s research first and then have david lynch talk about it afterwards. in his own words. it was honestly so immersive and it felt like you were having a direct one on one conversation with him.
it’s definitely a must-read for lynch fans but it’s just as interesting for anyone who’s interested in movie making and the life of someone as unique as david lynch.

My favorite biography I’ve read. As someone who did not watch any David Lynch films until the last six months, he has quickly become one of my favorite directors.
The format of this biography is unique. Kristine McKenna writes a chapter from her own interviews and research followed by a chapter written by Lynch himself. He is essentially responding to his own biography, but with personal anecdotes and other fun reactions. His writing style is so pleasant and he is just a generally funny human being. You may learn about how building pipe bombs was a habit of the kids in the Montana neighborhood he grew up in, or another memory.
Lynch’s films are fascinating and I find myself thinking about them for days after. He is the rare director these days where I am not tempted to pick up my cell phone and be distracted. His works demand complete attention. Learning the behind the scenes details or getting insight into his process and how he thinks was a treat and this book should be consumed by any Lynch fan.
