The Defector

Chris Hadfield

3.89 AVERAGE

A good mystery, and you know when Hadfield describes flying and things related to space, it is accurate as a CF-18 fighter pilot, a test pilot, and decorated astronaut. THe narrative flows along and has a dose of reality with many of the characters being real people. Enjoyable, I am looking forward to more adventures of Kaz.

This book has it all

-Political intrigue set against historical events
-A comeback (or two!)
-Ace pilots
-A new NASA mission
-Chance encounters
-Cool technology
-Cliffhangers
-An explanation for Area 51!

Hadfield has written a fantastic sequel to The Apollo Murders that is leaving fans salivating for the third instalment in the series. Personally, can't wait to see how this will pull together in the conclusion.

Nothing specifically against Chris Hadfield. There is probably much more to the story, but it is hard to read a book that is so pro-Israel. It does not provide a unbiased view. The Arab aggressors? Sorry, I can't do it.

The second in the Apollo Murders Series. A bit clunkier than the first and not as riveting, but flyboy Kaz is back and he can do almost everything!

I read 400 pages waiting for something to happen before realizing I finished the book. A lot of build up for an anti-climactic ending, and lots of unresolved plot points.
