Not as action packed as its predecessors but a lot of the history of zombies was explained, although I'm not sure I buy the explanation. Looking forward to picking up the next one.
I really really don't like the main character. Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble caring about her problems. I don't know. I'm just not getting into the story as much as I'd like to. The whole God VS. Satan thing left a bad taste in my mouth, and I really disliked that the story traced its roots back to Nazi Germany. I feel like there are enough stories set in/rooted in that time period and this did not need to be one of them. Maybe I'm just getting too old for them or something, but Darren Shan's books just aren't as good as they used to be :/
Not a whole lot happens in this one, but you get some explanations for what's going on, which is nice. Although, admittedly, it was more like confirming what I already thought.
Classic Shan territory, this is the fourth in a long series involving a teenager who is caught up in an epic battle of good against evil. Some nice back-story to the situation in this volume, but otherwise it feels a little lightweight.
This series is starting to get into religious territory. If it gets too religious I'm going to be really pissed because I already bought all the books and I don't want to have to stop reading them.
