I was able to ARC this when originally titled “Of Ferns and Gullies” as a Fae Guardian novella.
Of Pixies and Promises was a really good read! I really enjoyed having the dynamic between Sid, a human from Crystal City, and Nyra, the new Pixie Queen. Sid used to work with Silver before she crossed into Elphyne and mated to Shade. Nyra is expected to be mated in a harem as every previous queen, yet she doesn’t want to and would prefer to be with one mate.
This is an enemies to lovers situation. They both feel a connection with one another and their desire is present from the beginning. They are drawn to one another and it isn’t until Sid goes into the ceremonial lake that it really kicks in. I loved seeing a human guardian!! Their mating is spicy and sweet. I hope to see these characters again in an upcoming FG book!
