The last few panels were really well done, but the rest felt like there wasn’t enough build up.
Well - I read all the separate comics as they came out 1 week at a time! Good story. A little disappointed it took so little time for Superman to return.
Had a big idea, but didn't build anything to get to that point.
It was nice to finally read this. It's one of those iconic stories where they do it over and over, and you never really know the whole thing. I don't see the collected edition I actually read, so this will have to do, but.
I do have to say, I hate that Lois just drops his body once he's dead. Like woman, show some respect. Rude.
Other than that, it's iconic, and watching Doomsday tear through the lame second string leaguers was rough.

Again, a story that makes you love the man of steel.
About as deep as a puddle and as nutritious as a murky one. One of the most if not THE most overhyped and oversold schlock of the Modern Age of Comics.
Overall it was fairly simple and straightforward and unrewarding in its general plot.
And yet, for all that, there's a certain nostalgia in the superman styling. And in its second-half simplicity there's still a certain element of perseverance, which is done well.
But ... it still feels like a generous 3.

Ground-breaking for its day and set the bar for many comic arcs to come.
