Full of surprises. Keeps you guessing. Great book club book!
I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway but I have read several of Lisa Scottoline's books before. The story was definitely interesting and fast paced - I didn't want to put it down. I thought I had it figured out pretty early on, but somehow I knew what I was thinking was a little too obvious. I would have liked to have seen the character of Chloe developed a little more - the author never really resolved if she was drinking or why she had the affair. But overall I enjoyed this book a lot.
This book drug out. I was not very satisfied with the ending and did not like the main character being such a victim. Plus I was sure the SIL and BIL did it.
Better than her past few that did NOT feature the Rosato & Associates characters.
I love her legal series and it is always fresh and orginial. Her stand alone books are more miss than hit. This time Mike is called home from service when his wife is found dead from a household accident. Things move quickly almost too quickly in this novel. Without thinking he signs paper giving custody to his sister n law and husband while returning to war. He didnt even use his own lawyer. This didnt sit well with me. wouldnt the army let him go for hardship reasons? I thought early on I had this story figure out, but the twist at the end just didnt justify the evidence in the book.
Very readable. None of the characters are particularly likeable, but I was engrossed nonetheless.
This is the second book of Scottoline's that I have read and this book did not disappoint. While I didn't find it as thrilling as Come Home, this book certainly did deliver some great twists. I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy a good mystery.
This is the first book I've read by Lisa Scottoline. I really wanted to like it but I just couldn't. I spent a lot of time skimming for the good parts which were few and far between.
