Another Scottoline novel to get you wondering how this one is going to end! A real page-turner.
Great plot with Scottoline's wonderful plot twists. The character development could have been slightly better.
I usually like Scottoline books as thrillers/suspense. This book had neither. Felt more like a smaltzy Nora Roberts book. Just didn't ring true. And the ending with the in-laws doing a complete 180 was unbelievable.
The writing in this book was rather clumsy for the most part, and the bad things that kept happening to Mike stretched credibility. I do understand how a person who was obviously suffering from PTSD could have made some of the very bad choices that he made along the way, and I did find his character sympathetic because of that. The plot picked up the pace towards the end and the writing in the last few chapters was much better. This is the first time I have read a Lisa Scottoline book. Some other reviewers have said Don't Go is not one of her best efforts. Even though this was far from the best book I have ever read, I am willing to give her another chance and will try another of her books in the future.
Wonderful story that draws you in and keeps you wanting to "just finish one more chapter" before doing anything else. The author's style reminds me a bit of Kristin Hannah who is also a wonderful storyteller. This is the first book I have read by Lisa Scottoline. I found it at my son's scholastic book fair in the adult section, and I am so glad I picked it up. I will definitely check out some of her other works.
I really wanted to love this book, because I generally enjoy reading everything by Lisa Scottoline, but I just did not care for it too much. I found myself constantly mad about what was happening in the book. I did not feel the characters were well rounded.
A little too violent for me, but I know part of it is during a war.
My first audio book on CD in the car. I plan to add many others, once public library branches re-open.
Borrowed from JCPL.

This was my first book by this author. I really enjoyed it but I couldn't give it a 5 star review simply because there were parts that were not quite believable to me. There were also parts that were really predictable and you could see where the plot line was going way before it even went there. That isn't always rate down for but in this case the foreshadowing and unbelievable parts coupled together made it a 4 star read instead of a 5 star one. I will definitely be reading more books by this author in the future. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a good dramatic and emotional read.
