This book is so melancholically creepy.
After the sudden death of her friend, Diya starts working for a cleaning company that specializes in cleaning up after those who have passed. Except there’s something strange with her new boss and who he works for.
I can’t honestly think of another word to describe this than “melancholy”. Diya sifts through these forgotten people’s lives, putting together who they are based off what she finds, as well as putting together what actually happened to them and how they died. As well as dealing with her own depression and isolation after losing her friend.
And then of course…..fuck Johnny Sims this monster is straight out of the Magnus Archives Jesus Christ.

Honestly, if one of the clean up's weren't set in Beckton I'd have DNF... this could have been so good but the
supernatural element just fell flat for me and it lost all the tension and mystery when it was clear that was the case, let alone the fact Mr Bill BLEW UP /spoiler>
