A gorgeous, gentle picturebook with the most lovely, tactile illustrations. Little Bear is frightened by the dark, Big Bear patiently tries to help by increasing the light...until he helps Little Bear see the bigger picture. Wonderfully warm hearted with a core of such tenderness; this is a book that repats rereading as the details reveal themselves in the illustrations gradually.
These were some of the first books that I learned to read. Every child gets scared.
Big Bear and Little Bear, too of my favorite bears! Little Bear can't fall asleep, because the dark is scary and Big Bear tries to help.
3 1/2 stars. Cute book where Big Bear tries to get Little Bear to sleep but Little Bear is scared of the dark so big Bear must find a solution. The art was nice but I felt the ending could have been executed better. Still, a sound read for bedtime.
Honestly I think I enjoyed this more than the kids with how Big Bear wants to get back to his book but he patiently puts Little Bear to bed each time. Something any parent can relate to.

My, oh, my this is a sweet book. The illustrations are warm and cozy and the story tells of the fear of the dark, patience and love.
I'm not sure if I love this book more from relating to big bear, or for the Game of Thrones level disturbing dialogue from little bear...

I mean cripes, the story is about how no matter what light big bear brings there is still darkness everywhere scaring little bear. Terrifying 10/10
