I found the story to be a little bit all over the place with a bunch of many stories within the big story. It took me a little bit of time to get into the groove of it, but as it went along, I found myself enjoying it more and more. I wish there had been a little more backstory for Rea and at the other head, delved a little bit more into her time in the foster care system. I enjoyed that there was a mystery built into the storyline, and that gave it a little bit of excitement. I would classify this book as a family saga with a little bit of romance and mystery thrown in. I’m hoping that as the series goes on, we’ll get to know each of the characters more intricately then we did in book one. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and see how it may progress.
This is my first contemporary read from Jodi Thomas. I always love her western (well...when I saw Jodi Thomas I would see Texas) and I am not dissappointed with this one. Love the small town close knit community.
Welcome to Harmony is different from other small town series that I have read. Usually, the story would be centered on the two main characters and some of the supporting characters then will be the main one in the next book. But for this series, the town itself is the center and the story revolved around its occupants. There was a main couple but others were not treated as supporting cast. They have their own story flow. And the amazing thing is, it didn't feel crowded as some of other series. Or the feeling that the main characters were 'drowned' by the too many side stories. It was like watching a tv series where the characters will have their own life to live and their own story to tell.
Looking forward to the next book in line!

This book is really quite remarkable. Jodi Thomas has joined the list of authors whose books I will pre-order.
Welcome to Harmony is the first book in a new contemporary trilogy by Jodi Thomas. I wouldn't strictly classify it as a romance novel. Though there are several romance threads that flow through it, the book is more about the town of Harmony, Texas and its inhabitants.
I adore Thomas' contemporary romances. Her strong characterizations and idyllic small towns draw the reader in and don't let go. While reading, I felt like I was there, in Harmony with Reagan and Noah, Hank and Alex and all the others. First I wanted to move to Twisted Creek, then to Bailey, now to Harmony. If Thomas keeps this up I'll be living in Texas before I know it.

This book was so good! While I loved Jodi’s Whispering Mountain series, I really enjoyed the first in this new modern day series. It felt like the start of a saga - I have a feeling that each book will jump a few years as we follow the stories of each character. I wasn’t expecting so many POVs in this book, but I’m really glad we got them. It helped us expand the world and see different perspectives across the small town.
I’m so excited to finally get my teeth into this series and go on a long journey with all these characters!

I became a fast fan of Jodi Thomas after reading Twisted Creek. I really enjoyed her writing style, and Welcome to Harmony did not disappoint. This book was a quick read, but very heartwarming. I've already got the second book in the series, Somewhere Along the Way, sitting on my nightstand. I'm looking forward to reading more about Reagan and the family she's created in Harmony.
I felt as though I opened a door to Small Town Living, USA when I began reading [b:Welcome to Harmony|7745234|Welcome to Harmony (Harmony #1)|Jodi Thomas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1389063014l/7745234._SY75_.jpg|10568612]. The town had a slower pace, but I still wanted to immerse myself in their culture and fabric. They had such interesting residents.
I enjoyed all the characters, but especially Rea, Hank, Noah and Tyler. Each person was distinctive in their very own way; they tugged on my heartstrings.
I appreciated the thread of suspense that Ms. Thomas included. The developments were realistic and the resolution was good. By the time I was reading the closing pages, I knew I would visit Harmony, Texas again.
