I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Gentle Chains is a story set in a space opera/sci-fi background. Told by dual POV the story follows a brother and a sister as they are torn from each other and they try to survive on the hostile new enviroments they are thrown into.
I enjoyed the setting, the world building and the conflicts all the heroes got into in order to save those they love. Chosi and her powers are really amazing and I loved how she worked with the darken. Juhan and Sadi form an alliance which will form into love and they become the center of political manipulations.
A strong new novel with a fresh story! I hope to read the next book soon!

As seen on Gaga Over Books for blog tour..
- I quite liked this and that ending has me surely curious about the final book Violent Freedom-- Loving the name by the way. And I am glad to know this is a duology.
- This book was told from the twins' perspective naturally. I was enjoying Chosi's narrative more because of her draken duties but then Juhan's narrative grew interesting as well after sometime.
- It was a quick read with enough violence and romance and friendship that was needed to keep me interested.
- The plot was definitely hooking and had me flipping pages quickly. Along with the characters you will really love to hate and purely love/like.
- I am definitely curious to read more from Nazarea as I liked her zombie series as well.
- I will be thrusting this book to my sister now.
Teaser:

Thanks to Ink Slinger PR and Nazarea for this reading opportunity.
The final book Violent Freedom comes out this fall. Definitely curious for that.
Psst. the tagline for this book is

I Prefer Violent Freedom.-- hint hint!!! :p
I have been putting off writing this review for as long as possible, but only because I knew there was no chance that I could do it justice! I’ll start off by saying that Gentle Chains is hands down my favorite book by Nazarea so far (though I haven’t read her World Without End series yet). It was everything I needed it to be and more. Action and adventure, names I have no chance of being able to pronounce correctly (so I just make it up as I go along), detailed world building, and as believable as science fiction can be!
I do need to say one thing. A SERIES?! GAH! I was NOT prepared for that. Not even a little. “It’s a good sized book, she can totally get this wrapped up in time.” But this story is MASSIVE and can’t possibly be contained in one book! It actually follows two separate stories, worlds apart. In the beginning, I naturally gravitated towards Chosi’s story, because there is nothing I love more in a book than a kick-ass woman! No matter what trouble she runs into, she doesn’t back down. I’ll admit I wasn’t a huge fan of Juhan at first, because of how weak he appeared. It felt like he had everything so easy, when compared with Chosi, and it didn’t seem the least bit fair. But then, as the story progressed, so did his character, and he began to earn my respect. Where Chosi’s story is more physical, Juhan’s is more political. The two stories juxtapose each other perfectly.
I can’t possibly get my hands on the next book fast enough!
