Banter is def ten stars. I was addicted to this book, these witty unique characters and didn’t want it to end.

I give it a 3 since I ended up liking the dynamic between the main characters…HOWEVER their characters and interactions seemed very fabricated at times…some of the lines actually felt like I was reading a poorly written fanfic book by someone that has a corny and superficial idea of how enemies go lovers characters should act
I have actually read many fanfic books that had better writing and plot than this one. I was curious about the smut since I never bought a published book with it and I found that it was ok, very “spicy” language as they advertised. But I think that if you take out the unnecessary, uncomfortable sexual language used you are not left with a lot of actual content.
I kept reading the book with the promise of it ending up not being a love story, Romeo perishing as it is advertised in the cover. For most of the book I did not root for the MCS, I actually was certain they would not fall in love and be together by the end considering the atrocities done and said by both characters. I also thought that he would maybe die by the end. In this sense the plot could have swerved from the tacky, predictable type of book, and reached into a complex sexual relationship between “enemies”.
I think it would have been interesting to see the FMC finally not falling in love with a guy that mistreated her so much. But also diving into the sexual abstinence she grew up with and how complex attraction can become.
On a good note, I liked seeing the main girl’s main goal to be a mother. Even if she could have been written to actually better herself to so, it was refreshing to see this type of desire not being repressed into a lazy attempt to define feminism. Additionally, when the writers started to tone down the verbal abuse between the characters, their dynamic started to become very interesting which led me to believe something would happen to fulfill the “sad ending” promise of the book.
However, as all these possibilities swarmed around my head, the plot kept me interested until the end, leaving me uncertain of how the book would finish.

Ummmmm yeah…give me book 2 like right now please! Talk about a GRUMPY billionaire! The banter between Romeo and Dallas kept me sucked into the pages. The authors also gave just enough details on the side characters that kept it intriguing and left me wanting their stories as well! Can’t wait to read book 2!
