This was the first lesbian novel I ever read. It is a beautiful story of love, sweetness, adventure and determination.
This was sweet and somewhat refreshing. A story about early lesbians written by a presumably eccentric lesbian who used a ouija board to talk to other dead lesbians the book is mildly about.

A cute little romance about two smitten lesbians! It’s very light and sweet (especially the second half). Literally like one bad thing happens in the entire book. I see why lesbians loved this back when it was published — if every lesbian book ended in tragedy, I’d also crave a sickly sweet romance like this. I’m glad I read it.
I highly recommend reading about the author’s life before/ after reading this. She put a lot of herself in this book.

El libro me encantó, conocer la historia de amor entre Sarah y Patience en una época como en la que se desarrolla te llena de distintas emociones.
Una historia que no solo nos muestra como en ocasiones el amor puede superar toda situación, también nos aporta acerca de la posición de la mujer en la sociedad en esos momentos y que te ayuda a entender los pensamientos de las protagonistas.
La única razón de no tener 5 estrellas, es que para el final algunas actitudes de las protagonistas me empezaron a disgustar y sentía que no encajaban con lo planteado durante las primeras cuatro partes del libro.
En general, un libro cálido y con gran aportación a cualquiera que lo lea.
