This series is very enjoyable, similar in many ways to the Percy Jackson books. I find it a bit frustrating that the books don't stand alone, they are a continuation of the same story. Seems like the only reason they are broken up into books is so they can sell each one separately. But I'm enjoying the story so I'm buying each one as I finish the last.
Scott does a terrific job incorporating the different mythologies into a fun adventurous story for young adults... Celtic, Greek, Egyptian, Norse and Indian all appear in some form in this novel. I love how some of these characters are enemies from the past but come together in the present to fight for a common cause. Ended with a cliffhanger, so on to the last one in this series.
4,5 stars. There is a lot of storybuilding for the last book. Sadly no big things happen.
medium-paced
sheesh.. seeing like the duplicate personalities of some of the characters threw me for a good loop.
we're rlly getting into the thick of it and i feel like im speeding thru this series (even as a re-read!!)
BUT ALSO OMG THE ENDING I COMPLETELY FORGOT THE ENDING!!!!!!!!THEIR PARENTS ANCESTORS BASICALLY LIKE WDFUUUUQQ

I was a fool, expecting this to be the last (don't know, where I got that idea). And was pleasantly surprised when the book ended with a twist I would never have expected. I expect an epic finale, as I feel the tension cannot get any tighter, the plot any thicker.
I like the thoughts on time paradoxes that this book encourages and am relieved that so far I see no error in logic.

Reading this fourth book in the series, I think books 1-3 could have been written more concisely and shoved together in one book. I almost gave up on the series, but the end of book three had more "meat" and got to the point of the story. The author definitely introduced lots of characters, but I think it pushed my "suspension of belief" too far. I guess he was just trying to get as many historical names in his book but for me it bogged it down and muddied up the story line. Book four is even better, so I can only hope book five will have a strong finish.
This book was really good, i really want to finish the series!! The thing about this series that i like is the fact that it incorporates lots of myths and legends as well as historical facts. The author has done a very good job of binding these unrelated things together within a plot and keeping it through five books so far. i genuinely want to finish this series and i want to find out what happens...
