WOW! Seems as though these new "Isaac Bell" books are unable to disappoint! This was a fantastic adventure that kept me riveted the entire journey! Cussler and Scott were dangling candy for the reader, and they certainly knew their art. Just as Isaac Bell got close to catching that sinister railway Wrecker, he would slip past them. The ending was superb, a high-intensity scene of gunfight and catastrophe that was well worth the wait. Everyone's luck runs out eventually.
Audiobook version of this book is amazing! I would highly recommend.

Isaac Bell, a Van Dorn agency detective and son of a Boston Banker, runs to ground a terrorist who is intent on bankrupting the Southern Pacific Railroad in the early Twentieth Century. This is a historical fiction novel that details travel from West Coast to East in that period.

This was a great book. I've never read Clive Cussler, but am planning on reading more of his books about Isaac Bell. The historical setting was great, with good detail and information. The "mystery" is given away half way through but still gives you twists that you don't see coming. It's good when a book makes you want to keep reading even though you know who the bad guy is.

An entertaining palate cleanser between heavier reads.  Entertaining, if almost entirely silly!

I am still deciding on this series, it has a different feel than his other novels. I can't decide if that is simply due to the historical element. I enjoyed this story and I like the Isaac Bell character, I will be adding book 3 to my reading list.

I love the Isaac Bell series, and this one seemed to be the best so far! I had trouble putting it down.

This was OK. It kept me in suspense in most parts, but there were a few parts of the book that were particularly unbelievable and I didn't find it as well written as some of his other books. I probably won't pick up another Isaac Bell book.
