Same review for full series:
I wanted to like these. I really did. The overall concept is good - a princess who is also a superhero, at a reading level that is good for beginners.
Unfortunately, they didn't quite click for me. The drawings were charming, the stories were okay, but I was disappointed in the writing. Simple does not have to mean dull.

Princess Magnolia continues to charm, beguile, and smite her way through her double life. Marvellous.
I also eagerly await the sequel, in which Princess Sneezewort and the Goat Boy become a monster-bashing duo.

It is tough being a princess when you have to fight monsters and entertain guests for your birthday. I want more goat herder and Princess Sneezewort.
Princess Magnolia is back and so are those pesky goat-eating monsters. But even the Princess in Black doesn't get a day off on her birthday.
I love kids books, and I can’t wait to sell this at work :))
Clearly I'm in the minority here, but I was not a fan of this second installment. The plot line (Princess Magnolia struggles to keep her identity secret while entertaining guests at her castle) was waaaay too similar to the first. I get that repetition is good for beginning readers, but it's possible to include repetition without telling almost the exact same story twice.
I loved reading this with my daughter. It's cute and fun.
