The positives: good graphics, good characters, riffs on all the traditional fairy tales/legends, funny at points, the theme of friendship is good
The negatives: kind of uneven, a lot of the snarkiness I think would be over the heads of the intended audience

I think I was expecting something like Zita the Spacegirl, which was awesome. This was not so amazingly awesome.

This was cute - but a little too slapstick-y for me.

Lots of fun and adventure as Collette convinces her brother and best friend to slay the Baby-Foot-eating Giant. They overcome three tasks on their adventure with their concerned followers and coerced villagers following behind them. Collette finds more than she bargained for on this adventure.

Super cute and enjoyable, with a downright feisty and unconventional female heroine. This book contains a lot of laugh-out-loud funny moments, fun plot twists, and a variety of vivid and wonderful characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another Powell's find for my son that blew me out of the water. I wish all book stores and libraries took such care with shelf talkers!

I enjoyed this celebration of different strengths, plus the independence of children with strong parental support. I look forward to finding out all that's going on behind the scenes in this village!

That was one funny fun thrill ride! The artwork was brilliant and the story was solid. The power of friendship and taking chances. Loved it! Pair this with Into The Volcano by Wood and Ghostopolis by TenNapel.
