The main characters Claudette kind of annoyed the crap out of me from the very beginning. She was always screaming and reminded me of Scrappy-Doo. However, I did think that she was redeemed in the end.
This quest was humorous and the established setting seems to have more to offer. The art style isn't my taste, but it fit the overall fun and fast tone.

So, so cute! Reminded me a bit of The Emperor's New Groove. A fabulous, feisty heroine and delightful companions. What a wonderful adventure.
Oh, this is really fun. Bloodthirsty little Claudette is disgusted to hear the story of the evil giant who threatened their town, and how he was banished to a nearby mountain instead of being slaughtered by the townsfolk. "That's irresponsible!" she cries, of the general lack of murder. So she gathers up her best friend Marie, who is studying to be a princess and is clearly the brains of the bunch, and her cowardly little brother Gaston, who is a truly excellent chef (on their trail through the Forest of Death and up Giant Mountain he's whipping together "Crispy pork paillard with roasted cauliflower and spicy mango sauce, and a hazelnut side salad. Sorry I couldn't do anything fancy"). The kids are all likeable and very funny, and no actual murder takes place, as the evil giant is significantly less than. There's still danger in the world, though, as Claudette's dad used to fight monsters until he lost his sword, his sword arm, and both legs going up against a dragon - his daughter has clearly inherited the dumb-arse gene - and the book ends with the intimation that there's more and worse out there.
But it's goodnatured and charming and a lot of fun. The library has the sequels and I want them!

I'm definitely not really a graphic novel person, but this book was so cute! I think as a teacher it will be important for me to have graphic novels in my classroom to get the boys in my class to love reading.
Excellent graphic novel adventure for younger kids 2-4ish.
Super cute graphic novel featuring a brave, fierce young girl, a chef-aspiring brother who is scared of swords, and a princess for a best friend. def recommend!
This was a really cute graphic novel. I loved the three main characters. I really liked the development of them throughout the story. The ending is wrapped up a tiny bit too easily, (making it a 4.5 instead of a 5 for me). However, there were hints that the story might not be completely over, which makes me excited. An enjoyable, well-written, well-illustrated story.
