I can't believe I waited so long, this is hilarious! It had me snorting and LOLing in the breakroom in front of my grown-ass coworkers.

Great fun! A relatively tame graphic novel with lots of adventure.

Fun story, great characters. Definitely would want Claudette to be on my side!

Excellent story, characters, and art. Complex, yet light, fun, approachable, and humorous. Definitely goes to the top of my list.

Young Claudette is brash, bold, and bloodthirsty, and her answer to everything is aggression. Unfortunately, there is nothing much to get aggressive about in her safe village, protected as it is by a fortress. So when she learns the wall was built to keep out the baby-feet-eating giant, she decides it is up to her to hunt and kill the giant before it returns. Claudette recruits her cowardly younger brother, who can never please their blacksmith father--who lost his limbs to a dragon--because his biggest aspiration is to be a gourmet chef and her best friend, the daughter of the marquis, who genuinely aspires to be a princess, and heads out on an epic quest full of surprises for everyone involved.

Great elementary age GN!
Ohio illustrator.

Claudette wants to battle giants. She tricks her bff Marie, who wants to be a princess, and her little brother Gaston, a desert chef and wanna-be sword smith, to go and look for dragons.

As they search, the town at the bid of Marie’s parents and their money plus Claudette‘s dad in his wheelchair with his workmate, Zubair, go to rescue the kids. These kids really don’t need rescuing because the giant is a kid who wants to play with them. The kids do better than all the adults except for Poppa and Zubair.

Fun adventure, beautiful cartoons. Students love this.

Full disclosure: I'm acquainted with some of the fine people who are responsible for this fine book, but that doesn't change the fact that it's great!!

A great middle grade read. The characters learn to play to their own strengths in order to save the day. Personally, Claudette is actually my least favorite character, but she comes through when it counts and the story is entertaining. The artwork is nicely consistent and fun to look at!
