Come to me Quietly was such a dark, amazing, wonderful romance that I truly enjoyed. It followss our main character Aleena who's currently a college student and has a normal life; two loving parents and two brothers. One night her brother Christopher runs into his childhood best friend Jared and he invits him to stay with him and Aly at their apartment. Jared had the same life as Aly and Christopher up until his life changed when he was sixteen. After that he's been haunted with his memories of the past. Due to that Christopher lost his best friend and Aly lost her first crush.
Now with Jared's return he sees tha Aly isn't the same little girl that he would play with when they were younger. She has instead grown up to be this very beautiful girl. Oh course he, just like Aly, has feels for her but he believes it's best to stay away since he feels unworthy of himself.
While younger Jared and Aly have this very sweet and caring relationship that now has turned into something more. I truly enjoyed reading their story and finding out the reveal as to what happened to Jared that caused she a riot in his life. I liked that their relationship was rushed like others I've read. They decided to start of as friends and of course it grows from there. It seemed to me that as their relationship was growing, it was also all leading up to the climax. This great reveal where everything comes out and all hell breaks loose.
I truly enjoyed reading this story, as I loved so many aspects of it. Mainly our two main characters of course. The author did a great job at connecting the reader to the characters which brings out all of the emotional feels. I was not disappointed with this story.
I won this arc through goodreads first reads.

This book was amazing I enjoyed reading it. Thats why 5 stars is in order. I really liked that Aly made Jared feel a little bit better with himself and came to his senses that he actually needs her to survive. I just need him to get to his senses that its not his fault that he mom died anyone could make an accident like that. I liked how it ended on on a cliff hanger and it made me feel content waiting for the next book.

I really loved Come To Me Quietly. It was a great story and I couldn't put it down. While this isn't my first book from AL Jackson, I am always impressed with her beautiful writing. If you haven't read anything by her yet, this is definitely one worth taking a chance on.

After everything that he has been through, Jared doesn't believe that he deserves to find love since he destroys everything he touches. But when he returns to town and runs into an old friend, he finds himself staying with Christopher and his sister Aleena. Chris and Aly had once been his best friends, but neither of them are the same people they once were, especially Aly. Though Jared is drawn to Aly, he is determined to stay away from her since he knows that he would only destroy her. But it becomes harder and harder to fight what is between them, and Aly is just as determined to show him that what they have together is worth taking a chance on.

I absolutely loved both Aly and Jared. They had so much history and I was instantly captivated with their story. I had to know more about them and what all had happened to make Jared leave everything behind. My heart broke for him as he was so hard on himself. I just knew there was so much to this sweet guy that you didn't know and I couldn't wait to find out what it was. Aly was perfect for him, and I was so glad that she didn't give up on him. She gave him exactly what he needed and I couldn't have imagined anyone better for him. Their chemistry was strong, but it was their undeniable connection that made them such a special couple.

I will say that there were times that Jared frustrated me with how down on himself he got. He kept pushing Aly away because he didn't believe he was good enough for her, and after awhile it got a bit old. I still really loved the story and the characters, but that was what kept this one from being a five star read for me. I am excited that AL Jackson has continued their story in another book. While there is a good stopping point here, there is room for more and I am excited to see what happens next for them. I highly recommend this one to NA fans and readers who love emotional romance stories.

Good love story. Found it a little bit redundant with Jared....I understand what happen to him and his family was hard but all through the story he kept blaming himself and he wasn't good enough for Aly even though he couldn't stop going after her. It's a good story, well written with great characters...the only ick is the redundant but that's just my opinion. I would still suggest this book to anyone who wants a good love story!!

Will see what the 2nd installment has in story :)

This is part one of Jared and Aly's incredible story of love that doesn't fade and all it can do to heal. The great thing about AL Jackson is that she is not stingy with her words. When you read one of her books, you are getting a full and complete story with incredible character development. This was my first AL Jackson read and I knew halfway through that I was hooked! Funny story - I started this book on a Friday night and stayed up the entire night to finish. By 8:30am or so, I finally finished. Problem was, there was a second book and there was no way I could adult without finishing it! I told my husband I had an awful migraine and stayed in bed. Instead of resting... I bought book 2 and finished it up too. Never before in my LIFE had a book captured me like that. It was after this series that I KNEW I loved to read... I had just been reading the wrong books before it!

Ok, so, this is my first REVIEW for one of A.L. Jackson's books but I have actually read quite a few books written by her. I've read When We Collide, Take This Regret, and Pulled. After reading Take This Regret, I was so mad at A.L, that I swore I was NEVER going to read another book by her. The funny part is, I can't for the life of me remember why I was mad at her...
I think it had something to do with the ending and how the whole book was so intense and then the ending just left me a little bereft. Of course, that was before I knew there was going to be a sequel. This was back before I started being an obsessive author stalker and if I knew then, what I know now, I would have been nicer to poor A.L Jackson...

So, what made me read Come To Me Quietly after swearing off her books???
Well, this sweet, amazing author e-mailed me and asked me to be apart of the tour....

*Lets take a moment of silence to digest this because I definitely needed a LOT of moments after reading the email*

I was FLOORED... I was like WHAT... You want ME to be apart of YOUR blog tour?? Are you shitting me? NO WAY!!!

That of course, was all going through my mind and I can't say NO to A.L. Jackson, no one says no to A.L Jackson...

SO, I tell her of course and here I am giving you a review for Come To Me Quietly....

Now, I avoided this book because I needed to be in a right state of mind before reading one of her books. I knew it was going to be intense, rip your heart out angsty... and I wasn't wrong.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I was so tense, wondering what was happening and what exactly happened to Jared and all these other question floating through my mind.

But I loved every stinking, gut wrenching, moment of it.
Jackson likes to rip your guts out and then patch them back together all while she plots out how to do it again. She is amazing at her craft and I bow down to her angsty heart.

Jared and Aleena are two very cracked people. Jared more so than her. Some stuff happens when they are teenagers and Jared can never get over it. Aleena and Jared grew up together, along with Christopher, Aleena's brother. When Jared is sent away after the issues happen, both Aleena and Christopher are devastated.
Then one night Chris sees Jared in a bar and it nearly brings Aleena to her knees when she finds out he is back in town.

Aleena has always loved Jared. He was her protector and when Chris wanted to leave her behind, Jared would always be there to swoop in and let her tag along, all while making sure she was ok the entire time.

I LOVED the whole dynamic of Aleena and Jared growing up together and being there for one another. It made my heart swoon when I read the flashbacks to childhood and saw the fierce protectiveness Jared had over her.

Then as adults, watching them together just made me feel butterflies all over and I couldn't get enough. I literally stayed up until 4am reading this book and was a complete zombie the next morning, but it was worth every. single. second of sleep I lost.

Jared being so damaged and lost, it tore at my heart strings. I love me some damaged, fucked up, characters and A.L definitely delivered that in Jared's character. But I also loved how sweet, kind, and patient Aleena was when she was around Jared. She was healing his damaged soul without him even being aware that she was doing it, until it was too late, and he was head over heels.

It was just as intense as all of A.L's books are but I remembered why so long ago I couldn't stop reading her stories. She just loves to squeeze my heart and drive me near insanity with the intense moments, but it is just so good. I need to just kick myself in the ass for ever even stopping and being mad at her because I could have been experiencing so many other great books by her.

So, to sum up this book in a few words, I would have to say it's raw, passionate, swoon-worthy, intense, gut wrenching, heartbreaking!! I cried so hard and yet was so moved by these characters that I was sick with dread and praying for hope and I just couldn't put it down.

Then she leaves it on a semi-high note but I was left wanting so much MORE...

I give this book 5/5 heartbreaking,
soul-crushing,
hopeful,
stars.
