Wow, just... Wow. I'm at a lose for words at the moment. I was getting so frustrated come the halfway mark and not knowing about Jared's past. It was literally driving me insane! You don't find out until the last 100 pages or so and as soon as the truth comes out, it completely goes downhill from there. Holy crap, this book was nothing like I expected. My heart is completely shattered for Jared and knowing what happened in his past. I had an idea for what could have happened, but turned out to be completely off. I'm VERY happy the sequel follows them. I wouldn't say it ends in a cliffhanger necessarily, but one where you need the need book immediately. Does that make sense? Well... of the million books I own, the sequel is not one of those. Dang.

A.L. Jackson is such a talented author, and I think she has another hit with Come to Me Quietly. She just has a way of writing about relationships that pulls you in and captivates you. I can't wait to read the rest of Jared and Aly's story in Come to Me Softly!

Si pudiera viajar al pasado y cambiar sólo una cosa de mi vida, cambiaría el haber leído este libro.

This was a fab read. Aly and Jared have been friends since birth. When Jared was 16 his world fell apart, his whole family was hurt and it was his fault. Jared turns up many years later in his home town. He is beyond tortured and believes he doesn't deserve any happiness. The bond between them was all there but there is so much more between them now. I can't wait for the next book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'd been looking for a good contemporary book and this one delivered. I read the entire book in roughly 2 hours in the middle of the night. (Probably should have been sleeping, but whatever.) Story was very well written and I enjoyed the flashbacks and getting to see the main characters as young children. Definitely was not excepting the twist at the end of the novel. I've already bought the next book in the series and I am eager to read it.

*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review

I'm a HUGE A.L. Jackson fan. I can honestly say she's one of my favorite authors. Her books have made me ugly-cry more than once and I LOVED it!! So, I was obviously going to read Come To Me Quietly as soon as possible.

This time around we meet Aleena & Jared. They grew up together along with her brother, Christopher. Aleena has had feelings for him since she was around the age of fourteen. Now, six years later, Jared comes crashing back into her life. I loved Jared. He feels guilt, hate, pain and lots, lots of anger; all aimed at himself. He doesn't feel worthy of Aleena and doesn't want to end up hurting her.I just wanted to grab him and give him a big hug. He broke my heart.

Their relationship slowly grew throughout the book. From him protecting her and caring for her when they were kids, to something more as adults. With the dual point of view and flashbacks, we get to see what each is thinking and feeling; not only in the present, but also as kids.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had some things that I enjoy like the bad boy hero and a girl that tries to save him. The writing itself is amazing and I cannot wait for book two!
