While I'm still getting used to the first person language Child switched over to in the last book, this was a compelling tale and I enjoyed it greatly. Nice to experience Reacher in his military milieu for an entire book, even if he behaves rather unusually for someone in that situation.

The best one yet - has an emotional punch I didn’t expect.
I have not read these in order, and it astonishes me that it has taken me this long to get to this one. I'm guessing I have had it for years and it just came up on my random challenge. And it is on paper. I listen to most of the Reachers because the narrator for the middle ones was Dick Hill and he was just the best. The end notwithstanding, it was nice to be back in the time where he didn't kill people gratuitously, and the sex was understated. Strongly plot driven, really Reacher at his best.

Maybe the best Reacher book I’ve read yet. It was still very paint by numbers but the characters were a little more developed and the plot had a few more fun twists and turns than usual.
I know I can rely on Lee Child & Jack Reacher for an entertaining story.
Decent enough story. It feels like Child doesn't leave many breadcrumbs throughout the story, making it hard to engage with the mystery. Instead, it just feels like something that unfolds in front of you without giving you room or the tools to speculate along the way.
Still, a decent introduction to the Reacher universe I think.
