I got this for the Ilona Andrews and Charlaine Harris stories and discovered a new author that I'm enjoying reading - Faith Hunter.

As expected, there were some stories I liked and some I thought about skipping. On the whole, though, it entertained. Favorites, in order of appearance: Sympathy for the Bones by Marjorie M. Liu, Iphigenia in Aulis by Mike Carey, and An Introduction to Jewish Myth and Mysticism by Steve Hockensmith.

I bought this about two years ago because I love to read short story collections and Charlaine Harris is one of my favorite authors. The best stories in this collection were in my opinion Playing Possum (Charlaine Harris), Low School (Rhys Bowen), Iphigenia in Aulis (Mike Carey) and Pirate Dave and the Captain's Ghost (Toni L.P. Kelner). Probably Mike Carey's story was the best. I have read his comics, but I think I have to find his books too.

Magic Tests
An AWESOME story ... but way too short ><
For once, Julie has a good reason for wanting to stay in her new school. Ashlyn, a student at the School of Seven Stars, has disappeared and while it's sure that she's still alive and inside the school, no one knows where she is so Julie has to investigate undercover.
I loved this story !! Humor, cool characters (TOTALLY loved Yu ><) and always a plot full of mythologies =)
In short, a really great time and I hope we will have more short-stories from Julie's point of view in a near future =D

Just the Kate Daniels one.

I read most of the stories. I finished most, but not all. I started them all, but some I just didn't like.

Lowkey skimmed through the last three stories. This was... not my cup of tea. Of course I enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse story at the beginning, and Marjorie Liu's story was even better, but every other story? Gross. Really dull and uninteresting. The one about that girl in the purgatory school was decent though I guess.
