This was fine! My first JL I haven't DNF'd (sorry Keeper of the Heart). The sex scene still felt kind of non-consensual? I don't love enemies-to-lovers, so I think I was primed to not like this.

I can't really see this as a love match. if you want to read about a catfight between two ppl who apparently have a lust problem, and who despise each other, spit venom, and repeatedly cut each other to ribbons, this is the book for you. I wanted to love the book, but seriously, what do these two see in each other? aside from the fact, they are apparently the exact same person? I really couldn't say which one of them I disliked more.
however the Scottish lard would have been perfect for Meg. I honestly felt they had more of a connection and potential for love in two pages, than I got from the entire story between Dev and Meg.
it ends ok, I suppose.
read if you must, but I find myself wishing someone would take the premise, and write it better. it could have been great. it was kinda terrible.
by the by, if you know of books with similar premises/plots, that are actually great-please share!

This book is a bickerfest. I enjoy lively banter but this couple’s love language is to argue. They were obviously attracted to each other but the h set her cap for a duke not realizing that the horse breeder was said duke who was on the run. The duke, thinking she was a gold digger, set out to antagonize her while kissing her, oftentimes without her consent, every chance he got.
It's okay and I could probably finish this but there are more books I'd rather read. Today, I'm just not very into the idea of a man constantly in heat around a woman and their conversations constantly around that topic.

I’d forgotten I read this until I got my hands on my old paperback copy and managed to skim it. It’s very old school Lindsey with the leads suffering from childish sulking and over the top antics. Nonetheless I am quite fond of it as I still remembered parts of this so clearly even after almost 2 decades.
Plus, this has the most awful inner cover picture. The main cover is quite sedate nit the inner flap has a Fabio painting which makes me eye pop in how cheesy bad it is.
