What a fantastic love story! Kenan was so loving, respectful, and understanding to Lotus. I love how he was patient with her and respected that she wanted to take it slow. I admired how Lotus acknowledged that she had things from her past that she needed to deal with to have the present and future she wanted. What I love the most about their relationship is how outspoken Kenan is with his feelings toward Lotus.
Moderate: Child abuse, Rape, Car accident, Suicide attempt, and Death of parent

I was already skeptical about reading this book, considering how much I didn't like Block Shot, but I took the risk anyway because I love Kennedy Ryan

3.75 ⭐️ Kennedy Ryan is such a fab author, Before i Let Go is also another amazing read by her but i just think for me personally it is too character based, i prefer more plot to be happening. With that being said, this book did have plot but i found it was kind of crammed near the end section and there were themes that could have been more explored, such as Lotus’ medium abilities? I also didn’t really vibe with her friendship group it seemed like they were just there for decoration. I also think we didn’t see the deep bond between Lotus and Iris as much as i wanted to. The deep trauma in this book was really hard hitting and poignant and added real depth to the story and Lotus’ character. There was slight cringe smut moments but that might just be bcos i was part on audio and audiobook smut is not for the weak! I know that Kenan loves his daughter Simone but it also kinda seemed he forgot about her a bit at times, and I think that he would have been super paro after her sui attempt. All in all a good read but just was a little bit longer than necessary
