Even though I'm eating this slightly lower than Long Shot, I think this one is my favorite overall in the series (while Long Shot was the best written imo).

I love Kenan and Lotus love story. I like how it started off slow then built up with them opening up more and more to each other. I love both characters and how they grew individually and together throughout the book.

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I didn't like the end with 3 back to back hospital related incidents that felt like a forced way to talk more about Lotus and voodoo. Just didn't feel like it fit well or made sense. Also not a fan of Kenan's daughter. To me she comes off more like 10/11 rather than 14/15.

But otherwise the book was amazing!

3.9⭐️ The age-gap romance and slow-burn were done well! I also think the author did a great job with Lotus’ journey as a survivor of childhood SA. A lot of the story I loved, but I didn’t vibe with how chaotic the ending was.

Favorite Quote: “Give yourself permission to let it hurt, but allow yourself permission to let it heal.”~Nikki Rowe, Once a Girl, Now a Woman

This is the last book of the series and I wish I could read them all again for the first time. Kennedy Ryan never disappoints and I was excited to read this story after reading the last one that hinted at them meeting. The different personalities and age groups make for an adventure where you want them to end up together at the end of it all.

I appreciate the care that goes into explaining the abuse that Lotus has gone three and how gentle and kind Kenan is with her. Bridget is a wonderful villain, I can’t stand her ignorant behind.

Once again, an extremely compelling, hard-hitting contemporary romance from Kennedy Ryan. I was totally sucked in. Loved Lotus & Kenan.

I LOVED Lotus & Kennan’s story together and I truly think that they both needed each other during trying times. I loved the connection between trauma, healing, love, and higher belief. My only criticism about this book was that sometimes, I feel like things were moving EXTREMELY fast between the characters and that made some moments a little cringey. Overall, I’m glad I read this book and encourage everyone to check the trigger warnings before reading.
