I seriously did not think that Kennedy could top the love I have for Long Shot, but Hook Shot…might be my new #1 for this fantastic trilogy! I absolutely adored Kenan—that is a MAN, honey! I loved Lotus and how she didn't compromise her desires and beliefs for any person or anything. The other characters being messy and bringing the drama and Kenan and Lotus getting their licks in? Yeah, loved that!
I did have some issues with how Lotus is written. It got extremely manic pixie dreamgirl-sans-mania-esque at certain points, but I've accepted that this is something I dislike about how all the FMCs in this series are written, and that it's extremely personal to me lol.
If you don't read any other book in this series, pick up this one! As always, Ryan is the true queen of slowburn and longing and MMCs who work hard to deserve the FMCs. I also enjoyed the way voodoo is written about here, and how MiMi showed up whenever she was needed.
If you've survived childhood SA, please make sure you care for yourself while reading.

I don’t know what took me so long to read this one. I loved Keenan and Lotus and their journey. Keenan is an all around amazing guy and I loved him from the start. It was clear that he did have issues to work through and realize from his first marriage, but I still loved him. Lotus was a strong lead female, at some points she made me angry, but I understand her. I loved their journey and I loved Keenan’s love for his daughter.

I loved Kennan and Lotus's story so much. Learning how to trust again, love again, overcoming fears, fighting for love, choosing whats best for someone else over how much you love each other. I listened on audible and could not press pause.

I had high expectations for this book, I'd already read the other two in the series and absolutely love Kennedy's brand of weaving words. The characters from this book had made appearances in both previous books and so I had been anticipating this one … perhaps my expectations were too high, I had waited with eagerness which clouds my judgement now, but this one just didn't have the same effects.
The dialogue seemed wistful, too transcendent for my liking. I felt it dragged and lacked the grit, especially with lotus's background, the wounds of her life, it just wasn't like the previous two.
Both main characters were perfectly likable, the love story was believable and the story valid, it just didn't hold reverence the same way.
