1819 Guardian to Paulette Heardwyn, father to his bastard son, Bink Gibson, the Earl of Shaldon has died. From his grave he still tries to control their lives. But they both have plans which don't involve them marrying each other. And what is Paulette hiding. What is the puzzle.
An enjoyable romance mystery though I wasn't especially taken with the character of Paulette.
