Compared to the first book, this one was much shorter, yet a lot of things happened nonetheless. This installment focuses on Quinns’s evolution and her getting in phase with her powers, which was very pleasing to read.
I enjoyed going back to this rather somber world and characters, and in particular, the growing tension between Quinn and Lazarus (in all senses of the word). Their relationship seem to degrade instead of improving, and it gives all sense to the 'slow burn' and 'enemies to lovers' trope - if it ever happens

Very meh. Should have been combined with book one and shaved down a bit. No real plot development.
This series started off with a bang for me, but the second book wasn’t as good. I am not sure why, maybe a little detailed in parts and not enough of the tension. Still in saying that I am still interested to hear where this goes and how it will end.
