It was such a pleasure to listen to Lorde's works. My favorite was The transformation of silence into language and action, which is now a seminal text for me. I would reserve space for engaging with Lorde and her writings. Her thoughts and musings are just as powerful for today's landscape as they were in their original context. She not only asks us to question where we came from, but where we hope to go. She helps us in both the deconstruction and the imaginative; the rebirth and death of all. Both her poems and prose prove to be magnificent.
This isn't to make her writings sound devoid of heavy topics. However, Audre Lorde has a special way of engaging with topics in a way that feels approachable AND powerful. She has a way of being comforting while also being stern, of being able to inspire reflection while also encouraging accountability. I would encourage y'all to listen to all of these works openly and to work through the feelings you encounter as you listen to these works. :)

Prefer the prose to the poetry, loved the intro by Roxane Gay!
