I am not sure what is happening or is it a good thing or not. It is heading to the big conclusion, unfortunately with more confusion. Just leave poor kids alone! They have had enough!

3.25 stars
despite being one of the heaviest volumes in the series so far, it's also the most brief. I appreciate the author's ability to juxtapose scenes of intense, visceral action and brutality with poignant moments of childhood and everyday life as flashbacks. it creates a more emotional reading experience. Rei sabotaging Gendo's plans is one of my favorite scenes of all time, the way a soulless body gains emotion through human experience is the epitome of sci-fi (not that I've read much).
