This is the last book in the Asylum series, and honestly, it was just kind of meh. I felt like the author was just desperately trying to churn out one more book and made some pretty loosely connected ties to the first two books. The plot didn't make much sense, and I honestly didn't care about the characters anymore. Meh.

So after being pretty critical of the first two, I was wayyy more impressed with this one. Catacomb hads a more believable story and turned the cheesy "ooooOOOooo it was ghooooOOOOooosts" into an actual bone chilling moment of "who dun it??" Though I wasn't fond of the series as a whole, this book is leaving a better taste in my mouth in regards to Roux's future writings.

It was really missing the psychological aspects of the first two books.

I was not as wild about "Sanctum", so I did not have high hopes going into the final book of the trilogy. I was so glad I decided to stick with it - once I got into it, I could not put it down! It was a really nice way to tie everything up, and now I want to read about where it all began.

To be honest the whole series was a bit underwhelming. The only book I enjoyed was Asylum.
Catacomb just didn’t give creepy or scary. It was boring at times. The ending was just a bit much. There was something missing in the plot. It had a lot of potential but it fell short. I did however like that Dan finally got the answers he was looking for. I’m sure this series appeal to a younger crowd but I was expecting more creepy/scary content.

In the eerie vein of the others in the Asylum series, "Catacomb" takes the main characters and readers on a road trip, encountering creeps and spooks on the road until settling in New Orleans. Perhaps because of the road trip"Catacomb" is a little back and forth and wavers in it's true direction at points, aimlessly wandering until it hits its stride halfway through. Despite this bumpy beginning, fans will adore the photos and mystery of Dan and his two friends, as well as a deeper mystery finally uncovered.
