"You can come back from anything," I say, meaning it.

"I can come back from anything," Poppy repeats. She doesn mean it. Her face falls into a cry. "Fuck," she says, wiping away a set of huge tears. "Why do we need her so much? Why do I feel like I need her so much?"

"Because all anyone wants is to be mothered. Taken care of,” I say.

If you are a millennial woman with a millennial woman for a sister and an almond mom. This book is both hilarious and a personal attack. Especially if you’re the older sister. I spent most of the book laughing and the rest of it, gasping.

When I say this book is an accurate portrayal of the chaos of sisterhood, what I mean is five days ago Amris and I had a conversation about Hugh Grant and his surprising number of children, and I saw almost the exact conversation in this book.

While I felt that the internet rabbit hole was a bit heavy-handed at times, I really enjoyed this (despite my own anxieties). The ending is open-ended in a way that makes sense to me, but I could see it being frustrated to others.
