What I Liked:
-Mercy dies.
What I Didn't Like:
-The writing style remains lacking for both authors, and many of Hunter's chapters sounded like P.C. Cast's writing, not Kristin's, which is strange to say the least.
-The Chosen One subplot made no sense and had absolutely no buildup in previous books.
-Xena being immortal, being able to perform magic, and being able to tell prophecy all came out of nowhere and was only revealed when it was most convenient.
-The pacing is extremely slow. Characters spent most of the book talking and speculating.
-Mercy is a passive, spoiled character who is coddled even into death.
-Hunter's ending is presented as bittersweet but ultimately full of hope and promise. In reality, it's extremely empty, sad, and honestly a queer person's worst nightmare. She is magically bound to the small, homophobic town that she specifically made plans to escape.
-Hunter's sexuality is, in fact, entirely erased from this book.
-There is a "joke" in which Kylie (a white woman) asks Mercy (a white woman) if Khenti (a brown man) is her familiar, AKA her pet.
-Emily (a brown woman) apologizes to Mercy (a white woman) for cultural appropriation.
Overall, this series was poorly written, poorly plotted, the world-building falls apart at the slightest examination and requires extensive cultural appropriation and insensitivity, and the way the authors approached issues of race, sexuality, addiction, mental health, etc. is consistently careless and harmful. I do not recommend this book or the series as a whole.

Mercy is currently trapped in the Egyptian Underworld, Hunter is working on freeing her and healing the trees. Can they solve all the problems and cure their world while a vindictive goddess holds the town in her clutches?
What a finale! So much happens in this book and it definitely didn’t end the way I thought it would which was nice to be surprised! A fitting ending for the trilogy.

This book picks up right where book #2 left off and I recommend reading the Sisters of Salem series in order. I like that this book jumps right into the fray of things with Mercy and Hunter trying to close the gates and stop the monster. I found the pace of this book to be the quickest of the three. I fully expect that there will be a novella or maybe a one or two book spin-off with Mercy and Khenti.

A sad, but good ending to the trilogy.
This book picked up right where the second book left off. Thankfully it didn’t take me long to remember what had happened in book two.
I enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed the first two, but this one read just a bit faster. One minute the twins are bumping with action and the next they’re sitting back at home resting.
Xena will forever be my favorite character in the book, so what if she’s not the main character. I love her spirit and tenacity.
Although I wish there was more to the development with Amphitrite, the authors did good moving the story along. The book could have been about nothing more than banishing the evil goddess and I would have been happy with it. I feel like there was some added filler in there that maybe wasn’t necessary.
All in all Hex You was a good read and I would recommend it if you wanted a book to pick up and read for the day and be done.

Although there were parts of this book I sincerely enjoyed especially learning more of the gods and goddesses. The found family aspect growing stronger and each character growing and accepting their parts and faults. <Spoiler> The part that bothered me is what I felt to be Mercy's unnecessary death. I hope they explain the purpose of it in the next book.

this is a bitter sweet ending to the sister of Salem series in Hex you we follow Mercy and hunter as they try to save their town from the evil that has infected it. This story I enjoyed reading but something is holding me back from giving it a five star and it might be how fast and convent the ending happens other then that I get what people are saying about this book but I still enjoyed it and that ending had me heart broken to say the least.
