Something just felt off about this book. There were a lot of awkward moments between the main characters, and so much emphasis put on the hero being from "Great Britain", with many reflections on his accent, on his 'stuffy' or 'proper' vernacular, on his inability to convert metric to American measurements, on his unfamiliarity with American staples, like chocolate milk, mac & cheese or hot dogs. Even after more than three years of living and going to college in the US, the book seems to dwell on how he has the barest understanding of American culture or slang. I found this just a bit hard to swallow. Especially, since he spent a lot of time with American jocks and going to parties on Jock Row.
Throughout the book, the mcs themselves seemed uncomfortable around each other, and uncomfortable talking about the other to friends or family. They never seemed to know what to say, or how to feel about each other, and were even adversarial at times, so I had trouble connecting with them, both individually and as a potential couple.
I didn't dislike this book. I just wasn't really moved by it, or particularly invested in the outcome.

Spoiler
(which didn't even happen in the story itself, but in the epilogue)

I felt more drawn in by this book. Maybe influenced by the crappy books I've been reading lately?
Kinda felt like another entry into the How to Date a Douchebag series. Not a bad thing. Actually I'm not sure I can recall the other Jock books.
Would I read again? Possibly.

I've come to the point with this author I don't read the blurbs any more, I just see the author and go Gimmie. I'm kinda glad I didn't read this one, because this was really cute and really fun. It was quite the slow burn and although their "meet cute" wasn't entirely on the up and up what comes of it is an adorable friendship to more between the kinda down on her luck Georgia and British rugby player Ashley. I enjoyed this a whole lot. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

You can never go wrong with picking a Sara Ney book.
There is just something about the way she writes characters that make me love them.
And she always adds a little bit of imperfections that I adore.
The chemistry and flirting between Ashley and Georgia got me in the feels.
I could hear the accent in his voice and all of the British slang was loads of fun.
Then you have the side characters who are hilarious and a bit annoying.
Ashley might be one of my favorite of her book boyfriends. He is proper with a bit of filth which was such a contradiction.

I really enjoyed the banter between Ash and Georgia, not to mention their inner monologues. Entertaining and well written read. 4.5 stars
Ashley was so swoony! This book had all of my favorite tropes.
Ashley Ashley Ashley.
You know where the story goes and you're happy it goes there, but it did take a bit.
I LOVED the friendship they built.
Lady Talbot is a hoot.
My only real issue is the cover model is NOTHING like Ashley is described. Mainly the lack of tattoos that are so heavily mentioned.
