I wasn't as engrossed in this one as my first Elvis deep dive but I can see all the scenes that inspired Priscilla and found it more eye-opening to hear the story straight from her own voice. The audiobook was really sweet, hearing Priscilla laugh as she reminisced and delivered quips she remembered Elvis or others making gave the stories an extra layer. The epilogue also addresses how hard this was for Priscilla to write and I don't doubt it. Despite how sympathetic you become for her situation when reading this, she talks negatively about absolutely no one throughout the book. Mayhaps that is not what people want or expect from a tell-all memoir but I do commend her for being seemingly honest but respectful about her perspective.

I highly suggest reading more books about Elvis then just this one before you form an opinion of him. Priscilla came out a few years later after releasing this book stating some parts were written more intesly due to her publisher stating it would be best for sales.

I mistakenly watched the movie Priscilla first and then read the book. After reading the book and re-watching the movie it was much more emotional knowing what she was thinking and feeling.

Thank you so much Priscilla for sharing your love story with Elvis. Beautifully written and conveyed. Yes, you and Elvis faced challenges but you never disrespected him in this book. I can tell you still have a great love for him.
