Having the idea of life flashing before your eyes after death and giving it a little backdrop on how it 'works' in such a magical sense is such a unique, fascinating concept. This book has such a melancholic approach to looking back at the life you've lived, whether that life is fulfilling or just mediocre, and seeing that even the tiniest, most mundane situation could leave a bigger impact than you realized.
I can definitely see myself watching a mini series of this one, especially an animated one, with each guests having their own short, episodic stories. This is bittersweet and nostalgic, but also hopeful. I loved that even with three different guests having three separate stories, the author still somehow able to give them the slightest connection that made it more touching.
This has taken a cozy, more intimate and sentimental perspective of ferrying someone to the afterlife. I especially loved the Ghibli vibes with the magical photo studio. This is also a quick read and can finish in one sitting.
