I am not a typical reader who loves the fantasy genre, but for some reason Chris's fictions always attract me. This is of no exception.
To be frank, I did enjoy A Tale of Magic more than A Tale of Witchcraft. One thing that I would like the point out would be about the plot twist. I was expecting a huge plot twist as huge as that in A Tale of Magic but turns out the plot twist here did not really surprise me.
Notwithstanding, I really love the message behind this fiction, "hold hope and don't let hatred manipulate your mind. Especially during a difficult time like this, A Tale of Witchcraft is such an uplifting reading that takes me away from my struggles.
Good job and I will definitely wait for the third release of the series~

Love it. The references to Alex and Conner were amazing! I did not expect them to get a sort of cameo in the book. Death was also such an interesting character. Can we please, please see more of him? I need to know more. And who is this immortal? Do we know him/her from The Land of Stories? I wanna know. And I need the next book, like, now.

I like this one better than the first.

3.5 stars. I was a little disappointed because I ADORED the first book. I think Brystal is a more dynamic (and less annoying) protagonist than Lucy, and I found myself wishing Lucy’s half of the book to be over so I could get back to Brystal.

By the end, I understood why Lucy’s storyline was so integral to the plot, but I was still irrationally annoyed by all of her nonsense.

I did really like the Mistress Mara/creepy af aspect, and the Righteous Brotherhood seemed terrifyingly lifelike. My jaw dropped at the plot twist at the end, that I should have seen coming, but I’m also just still annoyed because UGH I want Brystal and the fairies to have nice things!!!

The end did set it up nicely for the next book though, so that’s exciting. I definitely loved the first book more, but am looking forward to #3!

Another fantastic book by Chris Colfer. I love reading more about Brystal/Fairy Godmother and her adventures which her best friends (Fairy Council) and learning more about how Mother Goose became the lovable character we met in the original series. This book definitely was another wonderfully written book and I loved the intricacies and the characters and the story and I cannot wait for the next book!!!!!!!!!
