i was kinda bored reading it but they’re cute!

I rather enjoyed this book. It's been a hot minute since I last read a purely romance novel as opposed to a book of another genre that happened to have some romance in it. I really enjoyed how the author broke the 4th wall, so to speak, on a number of occasions calling out those who look down on ramance novels as belonging to a lesser genre. While reading this I liked to imagine that it was semi-autobiographical or perhaps wishful thinking on the part of the author, writing her ideal romance while filling the pages with the hardships and criticisms she's received as an author who writes romance novels.
I found much of the main cast to be pretty well fleshed out and well written, however, the character Shanice felt like an afterthought, the token Black friend to a T. She is introduced partway through, has very little dialogue or any influence on the plot and is specifically called out by the author as Black whereas I don't recall any of the other character's skin colour being referenced.

When I first tried it to find my next book after reading Naked by Melissa Tereze, I temporarily DNFed it, but I decided to come back to it and OMG I've never had a book start bringing tears to my eyes but this one did. First of all I LOVE the name of the bookstore in this book and like I can't wait to get to book 2! I can't wait to see what Rosie thinks of the new space and if Jane will get to work with her.

It was okay. Hung in there with it because of a book challenge theme of a romance involving a bookstore.  Pleasant without stepping out of the box, based on the execrable movie You've Got Mail, so that was a mark against it for me.  Weak sauce reasoning for a third act breakup.

Was too slow. Skipped to the last chapter and it made sense, meaning the middle didn’t really add much to the story.

got bored the plot basically already played out half thru the book

Okay, first of all, I really liked and enjoyed this book, it might be now my comfort book actually, but i still have some issues and stuff to say about it

What I liked:
- For starters, their relationship, it's so beautiful go they develop a sweet and healthy relationship, the evolution and those moments between them were so ugh <333
- Both of them are actually really good characters, jane and rosie are the definition of sun x moon dynamic. In terms of background, rosie has the better backstory and build up, but in development, jane had the best one, you can really see her process on opening up her heart to rosie and herself to be more social with people
- The side characters were good too, rosie's friend group was great, shout out to lia, can't wait to read her book, it was nice to see her and her friends and not only this book being entirely about their relationship, it's great to see them when they're separated and their small stories/moments on their own
- The way the book is written is very beautiful in a way, I don't know how to explain it but yeah, the author has this way to write that I find really comforting and sweet
- Now about the sex scenes, I've seen people complain about them, from my part I actually didn't had a problem with them and thought they were fine, actually I thought they wouldn't be any actually explicit scenes between them, or that they would aply the black out technique but I was surprised, and for good kinda in some say, that they actually wrote about them doing it so yeah
- IT HAD A HAPPY ENDING, sorry but lately I just feel that all books have some what a sad or tragic ending but this one was actually happy and a great break from all the sad book I've been reading (yes t7hoeh, i'm talking about u, tho i still love you and you still are my favorite book), anyways, it's nice to have something happy once in a while, of course it's still had their tension and sad moments, but it had a happy ending yay!

Now, what I didn't liked:
- At first, I wanted to drop the book, why?, it was a very slow start, not until they got meat up for that first encounter I was actually invested, before I was just kinda like "meh, okay" I didn't care that much, but after that, the book just went up and got better since that, so yeah, it balances it, slow start but a great and fast development (and by fast i mean it in a good way btw)
- Sometimes it feels a little too convenient and cliche sometimes, for me it's not a problem, i could still enjoy it's fluffy and sweet moments though they can be too corny sometimes but still can make you be happy and enjoy as much as them
- By the end, when the fight at the new year's party, I don't know about about other people but for me it did felt out of nowhere that they broke up there, I felt it wasn't necessary or why was the reason at first, now I do understand because it was necessary to make them developed, get some alone time and move on from the past of their first moments together, but still think it was like "huh?! why?!"

Anyways, It's a great book, y'all should start reading it rn and make it blow because it deserves it and it needs more acknowledgement and attention, to close up, jane and rosie are my new beloveds <333
