A lovely and emotional story of a Jewish girl in hiding during World War II accompanied by beautiful illustrations. It's a story of growth and courage as well as acceptance. Totally won my heart!

I already knew what was going to happen in this book as I had read Auggie & me: 3 wonder stories but this still did not prepare me for the heartbreaking and beautiful illustrations and more detailed version of what was going to happen. R.J. Palacio you have never disappointed me with any of your books - keep slaying queen

Social Distance read #2: I didn’t even know this book was a thing but I am so glad that’s I stumbled upon it on Libby. I have read both wonder and auggie and me in middle school and loved both of them. I even watched the wonder movie in theaters so you know I am a fan. This graphic novel took me far away and I was so immersed in it which was wonderful. I have never read a WW2 novel set it France although I have like 3 on my tbr. I remembered reading this in auggie and me but the graphic novel was so good. The drawings were great the color palette was so MY aesthetic and I greatly enjoyed this story of human courage and perseverance during hard times(what the world is going through right now). Absolutely

This book is magnificent! It had me wanting to know more about the brave people who stood up to the Nazi's in the French resistance during the war. The story, of a young Jewish girl who is hidden during the war, is told with such intimacy and warmth that I couldn't stop reading it. It was fascinating to watch the main characters grow and change as the story developed. The ending was heartbreaking but the message was filled with hope.
