It was so short, and I want more....This was a quick short read that left me wanting to know more. I love the way it gives us the background and history without making it long and drawn out. It perfectly sets up the knowledge the reader needs to know to start the series. It has just the right amount of anguish and compassion and is ready for revenge... I can't wait to see how the series plays out.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a super fast read, about 90 pages, and is jam packed with all the goodies you could want in a dark fantasy romance novel. This is a prequel to The Cursed Heir series which has its first book coming out in 2024. This is also my first book I have read with “trigger warnings”! I will say that there is one character in this book that I wholeheartedly disliked, because she is absolutely evil, but that is par for the course. She plays a huge part in Elenor’s backstory and therefore is kind of needed. I am impressed at how much depth Corina was able to write into Elenor’s character with so little pages to do so. This is a very short book that packs a huge punch! I cannot wait dig into the rest of this series. I loved Corina’s writing style and I will definitely be reading her other works.

Okay, this dark little fantasy with pagan mythology, moon lore, witch lore and mystical creatures, has me NEEDING the next book!!

She’s chosen for a rite that she wants no part in and her people literally force her in it and into the next year of her life and she has absolutely no say whatsoever.

She only has to make it a year & then she can choose to survive in a different way.. but everything changes right at the last minute!

Okay wow, this is beautifully written and an amazing introduction to this series, I want more already.
My heart aches for Eleanor, I cannot wait for this story to unfold. Such a brilliant book!

Exciting prequel to Corina Douglas’ new series! It gave me Handmaids Tales vibes which I absolutely loved. The cliffhanger at the end left me wanting more! If you love stories with vampires, werewolves, fae, morally grey heroes, strong female heroines, and enemies-to-lovers tropes, this will be the series for you.

*Definitely look at the trigger warnings before reading.*

I’m excited to read more of this series!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

WOW WOW WOW.

I was gifted the chance to receive an ARC of this book, and I am so thankful I did! For the first two pages I was completely hooked. The first few chapters were great, but then the book took an unexpected turn at the end that had me going “Say what?!” I cannot wait to continue this series!

I have not read other texts by this author (yet - adding to TBR now!) but I love her style and the elements contained in this story. Of course, check trigger warnings, but if you are a fan of moon lore, crystals, spells, magic, ritual, etc., this is right up your alley!!

I cannot wait for this series to start! I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a great novella for what I believe will be a fantastic series.

I loved the concept of magic and rites that are present in this novella and can’t wait to see this explored more in the series. Also the cliffhanger ending has me wanting more!

And for me the elements of Welsh folklore used were the icing on the cake and I loved the authors exploration and integration of these within the stories.

If you love mystery, fantasy, magic systems, rites, fantasy religious elements then this is a great novella for you.

Make sure to check the triggers before reading.
dark fast-paced

Let me start by saying that I devoured this novella in one sitting, and the ending definitely has me intrigued for more!

Eleanor has spent the last 6 years as an unwilling acolyte of the moon goddess Arianrhod, and her time has come to step into her role as the chosen heir-bearer for the Kingdom of Solis.

[I cannot emphasise this enough: please read the content warnings for this one before going in! Our protagonist does not consent to anything she is being put through here.]

The ironic parallels of Eleanor's and Arianrhod's stories are so tragic, and lead to the expected conclusion that vengeance is very rarely the way out of our misery...

Without spoiling anything, I'm very curious as to how Eleanor will escape/deal with her current circumstances, and where this will take our characters going forward. Something tells me it's going to get worse before it gets better!

Beyond it having witchy/Pagan/Celtic folklore vibes, I didn't know much else of what I was getting into with this story, and I was glad of that as the events unfolded, as it left me surprised in a couple of places at the turns it was taking.

All in all, this was a great little set-up for Corina's upcoming Cursed Heir series. It's available now, and if you're into dark romance with dark and twisty folklore, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Thank you to Corina Douglas for sending me an advanced reader copy of Cold Moon in exchange for an honest review :)

Corina's writing doesn't disappoint. You're drawn in from the first page and it is a quick read. My heart aches for the FMC and what cards she's been dealt in her life so far. I'm so interested to see how this story unfolds.

Highly recommend. Mind your TW and there is spice.

ARC review

I didn’t know what to expect going into this novella. I heard it was a fantasy book including the moon and witchy feeling topics so I decided to apply.

Given the ending I am so excited to read the rest of the series when it comes out. I thought it was written very well and each character seems so interesting. The first two books are about the second and first son respectively. I hope we also learn about Eleanor and what happened to Cheryl. It’ll also be fun to see the differences in how the two sons grow up.
