I love short stories almost as much as I love Skulduggery so this was always going to be a treat for me. Derek Landy's dry wit makes all of his books a joy to read and this one is very amusing, with fast paced stories & great characters.

I'm a big fan of spin-offs. Take a setting, change the angle from which we're able to see it, that's a win right there. While not, strictly speaking, a spin-off, this collection does serve to provide tantalising glimpses of the world beyond the main series (including a short story that could have been part of Dark Days itself but that's a gripe for another review). I especially like the horror novella that examines Skulduggery and Valkyrie's actions from an outside perspective.

I was a book behind when I picked this up and as such didn't read the preview for the last book. That's a section that won't be read as I know have the book in my possession.

This was a great book of short stories. The peeks into the past with the Dead Men were very enjoyable. I'd read a few before but having the in one volume makes it easier. I love the wit and sarcasm Derek Landy gives the characters, especially Gordon. Some of his lines had be laughing out loud.

The book is sure to be a great way to tide a fan waiting to get their hands on the last book over.

A great collection, though some completists will likely already have about half of the material already. What's left, though, is typically excellent.

A handful of short stories which introduce new characters - some of whom have already made appearances in the novels - and a couple which tie in with major plot threads.

Cream of the crop is one which sits nicely on its own, and doesn't have any real attachment to any of the existing storylines - Get Thee Behind Me, Bubba Moon. Probably the creepiest story I've ever read by Landy.

Some may see it as a way of extending the now-finished Skulduggery series (the final book was published this month), but there's enough original content in here to make it worth the purchase/library loan.

A solid collection of shorts and novellas that expand the universe a bit. My favourites were "Across a Dark Moon" featuring the Dead Men in the Wild West of America, and "Myosotis Terra", featuring a teenaged German agent who has the same powers as The Silence from Doctor Who (she is forgotten as soon as she is out of sight). "Trick or Treat" and "The Slightly Ignominious End to Black Annis" both feature Tanith Low and are kind of boring. "The Button" is also a bit weak but everything else is fun and fast.

Enjoyable as always

Not the most necessary volume in the Skullduggery canon but worth it for "Get Thee Behind Me Bubba Moon", Landy's Stephen King tribute, and the touching "The End of the World".

The best thing I can say about this is despite how many short stories there are in here and how much I generally dislike short stories, I think this book is really good
