That really should have been the first thing you said, but it was replaced by your desire to accomplish your goals." SHATTERED ME because I totally did not find anything wrong with the way Akutagawa was handling this whole situation at first because this kind of recklessness seemed to the fit the canon Aku's character. Akutagawa calling Atsushi a "kind-hearted murder" among other things makes me wonder, did the different circumstances really change these people's core at all? Other than Atsushi being fine with murder and Akutagawa despising evil murderous organisations, I don't think much has changed at all, even when provided with different better/worse environments and people  from the og bsd. And I don't know if that makes me happy or sad.

But probably even more than that, ATSUSHIIIIII. Oh boy I thought Atsushi's canon backstory was sad, and then Dead Apple added another layer to it. But THIS. This is a whole nation's worth of trauma oh my god. No child should be forced to drive a nail into their own foot, regenerative tiger or not. Absolutely no child should ever be so traumatised to the point where they panic and kill their supposed caretaker suspecting that a gift from them is a killing device. And no child should ever suffer with so much guilt and remorse to this extent. I'm so so glad this is not canon because what the fuckkk poor Atsushi oh god 

Dazai meeting with OdaSaku, yeah nothing good is coming out of this. If I had any doubts on how dark this is gonna be, it's all gone now. I'm just mentally preparing myself for the next volume.
