I loved this book.

It's basically 5 books in one as it rotates through five unrelated main characters and their experience with "the one".
There's a lot of little twists and turns and I found myself genuinely not knowing what was going to happen, which is rare and exciting.

The concept felt original, the pace was excellent, the characters all unique and colourful. The concept was well explored and it gives you something to think about. This would make a fantastic book club book.

It's both dark and wholesome.

Absolutely chaotic, it was a bit slow to start but then the chaos began. I'm not sure how I feel about Marrs style of writing chapters. They're like these jumpcuts making a bit harder to latch onto the characters and forcing you to play a mini memory game of do I remember what happened to this character 5 chapters ago. I do really enjoy the black mirror esque premise and plotline.

John Marrs is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. A twisty, science-fiction tale with a brilliant cast of characters.

Pretty good read. It took a while to get into the groove but overall I was enthralled by the end. I think having five different stories at once was a bit confusing but the shorter chapters helped everything stay pretty cohesive and I didn’t see any of the plot twists coming!

This book wins points because, despite the clunky, amateur-seeming, writing, and cringe dialogue and asides (which sometimes felt a little sexist), I was curious to see how pretty much all of the different storylines played out. There were a couple of good surprises packed into this. Some things were rather too convenient, but that can be hard to avoid with books of this style!

Listened to audiobook for this. Started it on a Friday night and was finished by Monday morning before work! The story focuses on 5 main characters who find out who their soulmate or match is. I'm a sucker for British accents so I enjoyed the narrators. I found myself so interested in the storyline for each character that I was disappointed when I had to stop listening and tend to other things (like sleep for instance).  When I can't put a book down, or stop listening to a book, automatic 5 star rating for me. I am looking forward to discussing this book with others as there will be some great conversation regarding ethical issues as well as talking about the ins and outs of the characters. This would be a great book club read.
