I’m interested in fiction where the purpose is to inform/educate/communicate a specific experience to create empathy for, or alignment with, a particular point of view. Specifically something that is a fictional version of a long form article.

This book very much fits the bill. The education I received was adequate and it was certainly more pleasurable to read than a long form article. I hope it inspires some change in the behavior of men and validates women who have think critically about the bonds of gender roles.

I didn’t really like at as a novel though. The first person narrator in particular seemed untrustworthy to me which infected the other main character as her story was told in 3rd person by the first person narrator.

this was incredible. relatively short but it did so much. the characters were so intentional and showed a diversity of thoughts and feelings in women, especially surrounding motherhood.

Gostei tanto deste livro!
